Founding history

TSTU in Tambov was founded in 1958. Initially, the institution had the status of a branch of the Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering due to the lack of qualified personnel with higher education. engineering education. About the university

In 1958, the Tambov branch of the Moscow Institute of Chemical Engineering (MICHM) was formed. It was headed by F.S. Polyansky. In those years the industry Tambov region produced up to 19.6% of the total volume of chemical equipment in the Russian Federation. Their training at the MIHM branch was carried out according to the evening and distance learning without interruption from production.

Tambov State Technical University was created on the basis of TIHM in 1993.
